YFC news: Gelligaer YFC make their mark

Most Young Farmers' Clubs (YFC) struggled during Covid-19, but it was particularly tough for Gelligaer YFC, which had only six members. Over the last four years, the club's older members have worked hard to increase numbers - they now have 45 members and are growing.

Past chair and club member Emily Morgan said: "I took on the role of chair in 2021 and we tried hard to make the club fun, interesting and relevant to tempt old members back and entice new ones, which proved to work wonders."

After qualifying for the Welsh drama finals in Brecon last weekend, the club won 'Best English-Speaking Drama' with their production Game of Tiaras. This will see them represent the country in the National Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs drama finals in Leamington Spa at the end of April.
