Farmers Guardian columnist Amy Wilkinson hunts down some of the best kit available at LAMMA 2025 for under £20,000.

1. Thorburn Group Premier Cattle Feed Saver Trailer

Where to find it: Hall 7, Stand 932

What it costs: £5,250.00 (+ VAT)

The Cattle Feed Saver Trailer is designed and manufactured in the Scottish Borders. The trailer has an angled bar design, which the manufacturer claims prevents waste as it allows livestock to reach the centre of the trailer and encourages them to drop feed back into the trailer rather than on the floor when pulling away. The Thorburn Group says customers have reported saving one in every 7-10 bales fed out through this design.

The trailer features fully galvanised feed barriers, a timber slatted floor, stockboarding and a heavy-duty drawbar all used to prevent rusting and ensure the longevity of the trailer.

Where to find it: Hall 17, Stand 360

What it costs: 20ft £2050 (+VAT), 40ft £3750 (+VAT)

1st Containers is one of the UK's leading suppliers of shipping containers. For decades, 20-foot containers have been a staple on UK farms for extra storage due to their ease of mobility and adaptability. With the rise of more diversification on farms, containers are seeing a new lease of life as farm shops, relief staff living quarters or as rentable self storage units. To aid this, the company also operates a container conversion division which specialises in creating bespoke, custom-built containers for customers. Examples include extra office space, a pop-up shop and even a restaurant.
