Ewe lamb tops Logie Durno online sale
The online sale of pedigree Charollais females from the Ingram family's Logie Durno flock, Inverurie, hosted by Harrison and Hetherington, topped at £3,800 for a ewe lamb from a female which has produced numerous show winners. The buyer was Messrs Henderson, Stirlingshire.
Next, at £3,600, was a shearling gimmer - whose dam has bred sons to 10,000gns - scanned in-lamb to Foxhill Va Va Voom, which sold to Messrs Powell, Co Armagh, who also paid £3,300 for a ewe lamb.
At £3,400 was another ewe lamb, which went to Messrs Douglas.

Ewe lamb tops Suffolk sale at 2,000gns
The winning ewe lamb and reserve champion topped the sale of pedigree Suffolk females at Carlisle at 2,000gns.
This was a Strathbogie Invictus daughter out of a home-bred ewe from G. and F.J. Soulsby's Williamsgill flock, Penrith. The buyer was Messrs Robinson and Son, Grimsby.
Next, at 1,800gns, was the second prize winning ewe lamb from Pamela Lupton's Kexbeck flock, Ripon. By Rhaeadr Rock n' Roll, it sold to Messrs Wilkie, Lockerbie.
Messrs Goldie, Dundonald, then paid 1,500gns for a shearling gimmer by Forkins Samson and in-lamb to Pyeston King, from James Cannon's Redbrae flock, Newton Stewart.
The overall champion, a 2021-born ewe by Pyeston Pumba and in-lamb to Pyeston Real Deal, from G.I. Richmond's Sullom flock, Preston, sold for 1,400gns to Messrs Tully, Barnard Castle.
Also selling for 1,400gns was the second prize winning shearling gimmer, a Forkins Samson daughter from the Redbrae flock which was in-lamb to Cairness Crafty and sold to Messrs Goldie.
At the same money was the third prize winning shearling gimmer, an Alloaks Jaguar daughter, in-lamb to Sharps Hawkeye, from Messrs Soulsby, which was knocked down to Messrs Cockburn, Galashiels.
Averages - 13 aged ewes, £763.27; 40 shearling gimmers, £770.44; 21 empty ewe lambs, £667.50.

Kaemuir herd leads Carlisle dairy trade
An entry of just over 350 at Carlisle's dairy sale saw fresh milkers top at £2,750 and an average of £1,937.
The sale leader was Kaemuir Art Pipit by Zandenburg Art bred from a high yielding dam consigned by the Orr family, Falkirk, which sold to Messrs Green and Son, Northwich.
The top average of £2,216 went to the Fleming family's Hillhead herd, Lockerbie, whose three heifers topped at £2,550 for Hillhead Oneida Duchess, which went to Messrs Hendry, Castle Douglas.
The Gray family from Lanarkshire topped the cow trade by selling a second lactation cow by Superpoll for £2,100.
Cumrue Farming Partners and Lawkland Hall Farm Partnership, Austwick, sold 64 spring-calved New Zealand Friesian/Jersey cross-bred cows to average £701, topping at £1,250 twice for milking heifers due in May to the Angus.
Holstein in-calf heifers topped at £1,750 four times for heifers from a consignment of 70, all by Secretariat and due in December to the Angus, from Sandyknowe Farm, Kelso.
Holstein bulling heifers sold to £1,220 twice for heifers from the Airey family's Newcroft herd, Carnforth. The first was a red and white heifer by Panda Budweiser Red, and the second was by Larcrest Atomic Red from the Rolls family.
Averages - 99 heifers in-milk, £1,937.39; 16 cows in-milk , £1,763.33; 15 British Friesians in-milk, £1,709.09; 5 faulted/three-quartered in-milk, £1,054; 74 New Zealand Friesian cross cows, £701.27; 86 Holstein in-calf heifers, £1,536.56; 3 Fleckvieh in-calf heifers, £1,533.33; 67 Holstein bulling heifers, £835.10; 11 New Zealand Friesian cross heifers, £359.09.

Strong demand for suckled calves at Rugby
There was an increased entry of suckled calves at Rugby's show and sale, where the Craig Thompson Memorial Trophy for the champion went to a 10-month-old Limousin steer from J.K. Smith and Son, Leamington Spa, which sold for £1,300.
Their run of 90 averaged £965, topping at £1,400 for 12 to 13-month-old Limousin steers. Younger cattle from this home topped at £1,340 for nine 11-month-old Limousin steers, with 10-month-old Simmental heifers selling to £1,040.
The day's top price was £1,695 for a seven-month-old Limousin from Clifton Mill Farm, Rugby.
Simmental bulls from C.H. Evans, Claverdon, sold to £1,300, with nine-month-old Charolais to £1,010 for J.C. Bostock and Son, Kenilworth. Bulls averaged £917, with most runs up £50 to £60 on the year.
Simmental steers at 11 to 13 months old from Messrs Alderman and Son, Cosgrove, sold to £1,300, with British Blondes to £1,195.
C.A. Morley, Clipston, sold eight- to nine-month-old Charolais steers to £1,265, with Charolais heifers to £1,050.
P.J. Incley, Watford, sold nine-month-old Limousin steers to £1,135, and S. Daly, Rugby, sold 13-month-old Limousin steers to £1,320.
Beef Shorthorns topped at £900 for eight-month-old steers from the Executors of F. Badger, Haseley.
A run of 60 from Steve and Elaine Friswell, Brinklow, averaged £1,015, topping at £1,290 for nine-month-old Limousin steers, and a 10-month-old Limousin heifer made £1,200.
Prime lambs to £195 at Skipton
Richard and Mark Ireland, Whalley, stood both champion and reserve with Continental-cross pens at Skipton's prime lamb show and sale, repeating last month's success.
Both pens of Beltex sired lambs sold to Knavesmire Butchers, York, with the 51kg victors at a sale-topping £195/head (381p/kg) and the 44kg reserve champions at £185/head (420p/kg) The Irelands sold another 53kg pen at £180/head
The first prize 52kg Suffolk-crosses from R.A. and M. Earnshaw, Flasby, made £133/head to Andrew Atkinson, Felliscliffe.
The 2,594 prime lambs were up on the week to average £124.84/head and 274.4p/kg (SQQ 281.3p/kg).
The 833 cast ewes topped at £199.50 for a Texel from J.A. Squires, Sutton-in-Craven, to average £88.78. Cast rams averaged £132.75.

Organic dispersal tops at £1,785
The dispersal of 80 organic cross-bred and British Friesian cows and heifers on behalf of the Weaver family, Turnstone Farming, Cheltenham, took place at Sedgemoor.
The non-recorded, low-input, organic grazing herd - which calved primarily in the autumn to winter, with a small number of spring to summer calvers - sold to £1,785 for a Norwegian Red cross third calver.
British Friesians sold to £1,764 for a second calver, and £1,680 twice for a second and a third calver.
Served Norwegian Red cross cows due to the Aberdeen-Angus in May sold to £1,312.50, and in-calf British Friesian cows due to the Aberdeen-Angus in November topped at £1,207.50.
