24 Hours in Farming is agriculture's biggest event.
Taking over social media for 24 hours, #FARM24 breaks down barriers and misconceptions about the industry, and this time, we have 24 brand-new ambassadors to help us carry farming's message far and wide.
After JB Gill and farming couple Kelvin and Liz Fletcher were announced last week, Adam Henson is the latest farming favourite to become an ambassador.
A new quintet of individuals representing a cross-section of the farming industry has also been announced been announced this week, as ambassador numbers start to creep up to 24.
Other ambassadors include content creator Chris Myers left his career in IT and e-commerce and pursued an interest in capturing local farms through photography and video on social media. Now, co-founder of Simply Agri by Pro Horizon, Chris takes great pride actively promoting and supporting the industry that has captured his heart and recently celebrating a remarkable milestone of surpassing one billion video views thanks to his work.
Young agri consultant Tom Turner works alongside farmers to develop sustainable farming practices across a range of enterprises. A keen advocate of promoting mental health across the industry, he is also committed to educating consumers about the food supply chain.
Dylan was born into farming on a family owned 15,000-acre beef farm in Namibia, South Africa, before moving to the UK to attend college. Alongside contracting work and managing livestock, he is tractor driving for harvest and is busier than ever after amassing 180,000+ followers on TikTok under his social handle - That Farmer Dude.
Claire Whittle is a farm veterinary surgeon offering consultancy to regenerative farming businesses. She completed a postgraduate in conservation medicine which sparked a passion about helping farmers use the principles of ecosystem health on farms to rear healthy livestock.
Former marketing expert Ben, who has grown up on his family's mixed farm, tried city lve for 18 months before swapping its hustle in favour of returning back to his farming life, launching an Instagram page to show people where their food comes from after he realised how disconnected the general public are with food productions. Married to husband, John, Ben also raises awareness of Agrispect, the global LGBTQ+ farmers network encouraging and supporting diversity in the countryside.
Look out for more #FARM24 ambassadors being announced over the next week.
JB Gill and Kelvin and Liz Fletcher were the first ambassadors to be announced, all of whom have come into the industry with no former experience, but have embraced the industry whole-heartedly and now strive to tell people what it is all about.
Kelvin and Liz, who both have a background in the arts and are more widely known as 'the Fletchers' moved to the Peak District to start their farming journey. They have taken to social media to showcase their new life in the countryside with their four young children.
JB began his farming journey after being in a global pop band, JLS, and is now a children's TV star and author, and an ambassador for many rural charities and organisations. Pigs and turkeys as his main farming focus.
Over the next week, Farmers Guardian will release the rest of this year's ambassadors, so keep a lookout on www.farmersguardian.com and on all our social media platforms.
