HSE reports three agriculture fatalities in the space of five days

Three farmer deaths in the space of five days has been described as a ‘tragic day for farming'.

James Thompson, operations director at Dyson Farming, shared reports from HSE regarding three agricultural fatalities across the country between May 29 and June 2.

The HSE reports revealed that a worker in Aberdeenshire was found under a mower connected to a tractor on June 1.

Another report shows that a young worker was killed in Gloucestershire when her ATV overturned on June 2.

And a farmer was reportedly run over and killed by a tractor and mower he was using in Devon on May 29.  

Mr Thompson, an active member of HSE's Agriculture Industry Advisory Committee, said he wants to see farmers place safety at the forefront of their working practices.

"A tragic day for our industry with three reported fatalities by HSE.

"Please do anything and everything you can to help us all improve our safety record.

"Thoughts and condolences with the families affected."
