
A packed ringside saw Aberdeen-Angus bulls sell to a high of 25,000gns, matching last year's top call.
Overall averages were £5,820, back £67 on the year for the slightly fewer 82 bulls sold with a clearance rate of 60 per cent.
Matching last year's top bid for the Aberdeen-Angus' for the same consigners at 25,000gns was September-2018 born Gordon Barney U334.
From the Trustees of the late Gordon R. Brooke, Earlston, the bull was first calf they had sold at public auction by Rawburn Joe Eric S249, and was one of eight animals they were selling on the day.
Out of Linton Gilbertines Brandy M607, an S A V Net Worth 4200 daughter brought over as an embryo from Canada, it was brought out by stockman, Iain Campbell, and was knocked down to G. Fraser, Angus.
At 17,000 next was Stouphill Marcus Prince U251, a September-2018 born Duncanziemere Jigsaw N087 son from William D. Allen, Alnwick.
Its dam, Stouphill Marsala Pearl P097, is a Stouphill Endeavour H011 daughter and also bred the champion bull at the Aberdeen-Angus society sale at Carlisle in October.
Having stood second in its class earlier in the day, it sold to K. McOsar, Cookstown.
Next, at 13,000gns, was Cardona Jewel Eric U054 from J. Robert Galloway, Doune.
The April-2018 born bull is by Nightingale Dunbar K551 and out of Cardona Jewel Erica L778, a strong maternal line which makes up just less than half of the Cardona herd. The buyers were G. and W. Henderson, Sutherland.
Two bulls made 11,000gns.
The first was April-2018 born Tonley Casper U512 from Neil A. Wattie, Alford.
A Tonley Jester Eric S318 son out of Tonley Kay Pride S256, it sold in a three-way split to J.H.C. Campbell, Alnwick, S. and S. Medley, Thirsk, and Alan R. Lawson and Son, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
N.F. Massie and Sons, Aboyne, sold Blelack Prince Charlie U931 for the same money. By the same sire, owned in a half share with Tonley, this May-2018 born Blelack Princess Carina R524 son went home with M. and S. Wilson, Dumfriesshire.
Next were two more at 9,000gns apiece.
The first was the junior champion, July-2018 HW Black Barberesco U459, a son of HW Fabulous R565 out of Balhaldie Black Beryl L509 from Highland Wagyu, Dunblane, which sold to Seafield Pedigrees, Bedley.
The other at the same money was another Tonley Jester Eric S318 son, Blelack Prince Cooper U938, from Messrs Massie. Out of Blelack Princess Carina S689 it sold to C. and E. McCombie, Huntly.
Stouphill Maximus Pride U238, a May-2018 son of Duncanziemere Jigsaw N087, took the reserve overall championship for William D. Allen, Alnwick, before going on to sell for 8,500gns. Out of Stouphill Marsala Princess K021, it sold to W.A.L Lawson, Alford.
Making the same money was McCornick Florida U540 from Martin R. McCornick, Newton Stewart. A Skaill Dino P099 son out of McCornick Fleur N908. The buyers were W. Mitchell and Sons, Lanark

Aberdeen-Angus females topped at 3,100gns twice, to average £2,307 for the 15 animals sold to give a clearance rate of 79 per cent.
The first to sell at 3,100gns was the pre-sale champion, Tonley Eyrie U520, from Neil A. Wattie, Alford. An April-2018 Warrenho Emperor M425 daughter out of Tonley Eyrie R179 was sold PD'd six months in-calf to Allan Moore, Ross-shire.
At the same money was Tonley Emiline U582, an October-2018 born Cheeklaw Black Boris S563 daughter out of Tonley Emiline L812 which sold as part of a draft from Mr Wattie's Tonley herd. The buyer was William Robertson, Ballindalloch.
Two more females from the Tonley draft sold for 3,000gns, the first being Tonley Fiona U565, another Cheeklaw Black Boris S563 daughter which sold to Blelack. At the same money was Tonley Vine U521, a Deveron Leggat P469 daughter out of Tonley Vine D219, which sold to D. Skinner, Inverurie.
