Thousands of farmers across the UK are gearing up to take part in agriculture's biggest digital events - 24 Hours in Farming.

Back for 2024, #Farm24 is sponsored once again by Morrisons and organised by Farmers Guardian and will take place from 5am on August 7th until 5am on August 8.

During the 24-hour period, UK farmers will flood social media platforms with posts, photographs and videos to highlight the passion, commitment and pride they take in producing the nation's food.

With much of the country struggling to cope with rises in the cost of living, this year the campaign will provide a platform for UK farmers to show how they support consumers and keep the nation fed.

The flagship occasion is also an opportunity to reinforce farmers' role as custodians of the countryside and the diverse solutions they are putting in place to help tackle climate change.

Sophie Throup, head of agriculture, fisheries and sustainable sourcing at Morrisons, said: "We are proud to source great British food for our customers from farms we know and trust.

"So many farmers we work with have a fantastic story to tell around the work that goes into looking after livestock, crops, land and livelihoods.

"Times are tough at the moment for farmers and customers alike - sustainable farming can improve economics as well as the environment and keep great British food affordable for customers - but it is not easy.

"We need to work together to secure a positive future, so customers can continue to trust in, buy and enjoy great British food."
