The Farmers Guardian Podcast: Scotland's new Tenant Farming Commissioner calls for more face-to-face conversations between tenants and landlords

Scotland's new Tenant Farming Commissioner, Rob Black, talks about the importance of managing relationships between landlords and tenants and the ability to ‘mitigate conflict'.

He said often tenants make assumptions of their landlords and vice versa. He said there was a need for more ‘genuine conversations' encouraging landlords and tenants to ‘sit down and talk to each other', rather than ‘impersonal' email communications back and forth.

"Sit down and have a cup of coffee around the table, have a chat and all of a sudden you might find there are interests that align or there are things that have been misunderstood," he said. "
