Ecosyl contains a unique bacteria - Lactobacillus plantarum MTD/1 - which is highly efficient at fermenting sugar to only lactic acid.
Accordingly, research shows Ecosyl produces a fast pH fall and strong inhibition of spoilage organisms.
In turn, more of the silage's dry matter and metabolisable energy are retained (see graphs), and research from 15 independent trials shows cows fed a range of silages conserved with Ecosyl yielded on average an extra 1.2 litres of milk/cow/day compared with feeding untreated silage
