The Chancellor's proposed changes to IHT loom large over the farming industry whether you own your farm or it is tenanted. This webinar focuses on how to navigate the IHT fallout under current proposals and looks to give advice on how to plan your farm's succession to ensure it is in the best position going forward. An expert panel – including Jeremy Moody, secretary and adviser to the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers, who has been at the forefront of challenging the Government's figures around the implications of its IHT proposals on the industry – will be on hand to answer your questions.

Webinar panel

Olly Harrison

Farmer and entrepreneur Olly Harrison is the face behind popular YouTube channel @OllyBlogsAgricontractfarmer. His daily videos, which he started in lockdown, provide a glimpse into the real-world challenges and triumphs of farming.

Olly's online presence reaches over 350,000 across his social channels, 110,000 of which are on YouTube. His 1500+ videos have been watched over 77 million times, where he shares insights, experiences, and challenges faced in the agricultural industry.

Olly was one of the driving forces behind the November 19 London protest and has been a figurehead for the industry as it fights the Government's Inheritance Tax plans, as well as raising the profile of farming's contribution to society as part of Farmers Guardian's Save Britain's Family Farms campaign.

Caroline Squire

Caroline Squire is a rural surveyor adviser at the Tenant Farmers Association (TFA). Caroline is a qualified chartered surveyor and agricultural valuer, and a tenant farmer's daughter.

The TFA's main concern with the IHT changes is that estates will be forced to sell farms to foot the IHT bill, and that means tenant farmers on short-term tenancy agreements are extremely vulnerable to receiving notices to quit so that their farms can be sold with vacant possession.

Jeremy Moody

Secretary and Adviser to the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) since 1995. Liaises with governments on the new policies developing across the UK, handling such issues as agricultural tenancy and land occupation, taxation, valuation, planning, climate change and environmental matters, writing widely on both policy and practice. Currently heavily involved in analysis of the effects of the October Budget's Inheritance Proposals across the UK, publishing assessments and giving evidence to Parliament.

Andrew Robinson

Andrew grew up on a large hill farm in North Cumbria and still has an active role on a large beef farm in Northumberland. This gives him a great insight into the issues affecting farmers in their businesses and helps inform his work as an accounting partner at Armstrong Watson.

Andrew studied at Newcastle Polytechnic and, after qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1996, has concentrated on supporting and advising farming businesses and landed estates.

He moved to Hexham in 1998 and now looks after agricultural businesses across the North of England and the Borders, drawing on his years of experience and working knowledge to help his clients, particularly in succession and IHT matters.
