Staffline is recruiting for a Transport Clerk, working for one of our most prestigious client's based in Heywood.
The rates of pay are: 9.50 per hour on day shifts and 10.50 per hour on night shifts.
You will be required to work on the following shift patterns:
6AM 2PM from Monday to Friday
2PM 10PM from Monday to Friday
10PM 6AM from Sunday to Thursday
Overtime paid for bank holiday working x 1.5

Your time at work
The candidate will be working in a dynamic transport environment situated in a transport office, coordinating the administration activities that will accompany the movements of products across the United Kingdom. Providing support on quality processs, system data aspects and general data entry. The individual will ensure the fast processing of the information, perform quality audits and ensuring quality requirements are met for a number of crucial KPI parameters. This will include proactive vehicle monitoring, communicating with the terminals and contractors, discussing and improving errors reporting back findings to management for review.

Main accountabilities to include but not be limited to:
Plan, organise and control activities related to transportation
Excellent customer service
Direct workers for loading and unloading of consignments, goods and means of transport
Respect the law on road traffic public, domestic and international traffic of goods
Coordinate team that prepares all documents and obtain all documents necessary for legal circulation on public roads
Obtain licenses for transport and execution of motor vehicle
Follow due dates for renewal of licenses, permits, etc. and reports to supervisors/managers to initiate appropriate action
Find optimal solutions for transport and communicate solutions to the clients
Assisting in the compilation of weekly transport statistics
Handle day to day queries from internal departments

The ideal candidate will have the following skill base:
Computer literate and competent with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, good keyboard skills
Communication, forward planning and negotiation skills
Ability to maintain records of vehicle operations
Numeracy skills
Good attention to detail
A previous experience of working in a Transport office is essential, although the full training will be provided.
